Melissa Fisher is The Laurits Andersen Professorship with Special Responsibilities in Business and Organizational Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Copenhagen. She previously was a Visiting faculty member in the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University with positions in Metropolitan Studies as well as Gender and Sexuality Studies. Fisher earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Cultural Anthropology at Columbia University, and her B.A. Cum Laude in English at Barnard College. She is the author of Wall Street Women (Duke University Press, 2012). She is also the co-editor of Frontiers of Capitalism: Ethnographic Reflections on the New Economy (Duke Press, 2006). Fisher is currently developing two research projects: diversity in finance in Denmark in relation to the Nordic Countries, Europe and the United States; anticipatory governance initiatives and forecasting in relation to the future of business in Denmark and more globally.
